The order of a conversation
Mercury describes how a person gathers information, forms an answer, and puts it into words. Some people speak to discover what they think. Others edit privately and speak once the answer is ready.
The friction often begins before the disagreement. One person hears an unfinished thought as a position. The other hears a finished answer as a door closing.
Nora and Theo
Nora's Mercury is in Capricorn. She edits before speaking. Theo's Mercury is in Cancer. He often speaks from the middle of a feeling and circles back. His first pass needs to arrive before her verdict. That order gives both minds room to do what they naturally do.
What Mercury cannot settle
A chart can describe the route into a conversation. It cannot decide who is right or whether either person is listening. Those remain choices made in the room.
