Your ten-year chapter
What a BaZi chapter changes, why its start date is personal, and what remains yours throughout it.
A chapter is timing, not character
Your four pillars describe the structure present at birth. A ten-year chapter adds a temporary influence around that structure. It can make one kind of work easier to sustain and another harder to ignore. It does not replace the person underneath it.
Aster keeps these layers separate. The natal portrait says what stays. The chapter explains why the same person may be narrowing, building, showing, or reconsidering now.
The start date is calculated
The sequence moves forward or backward from the month pillar according to year polarity and recorded sex. Its start is counted from the nearest solar-term boundary. That means a chapter does not begin neatly on a birthday or January first.
If sex is not provided, Aster does not infer it and does not calculate the ten-year sequence. The rest of the Chinese chart can still be read.
Two people can be on different clocks
Nora and Theo are both in the fifth year of a chapter in the checked sample. Nora's began in March 2022. Theo's began in October 2021. The timing helps explain why one is narrowing commitments while the other is making work more visible.
